(These rules are based on the vampires within HRT, however, the general rules of them apply to ALL NightWorld beings, be it vampires or supernatural.)
The primary rule among vampires is: "Thou shalt not draw attention to thyself."- Vampires can coexist with the humans, and other supernatural beings however vampires are NOT to expose themselves of any other vampire for their true nature. They are to act with discretion.
The secondary rule among vampires is: "Thous shalt obey thy master." -With the exception of rogues all vampires, and other NightWorld Supernatural beings are bound to a master. That master will have his or her own master, resulting in a hierarchy of control. Vampires living in the Hidden Realm of Tranquility are forbidden to commit crimes, against mortal beings. If a vampire breaks this rule, they will be forced to deal with the Master of the City, whom often engages in vigilante activities to control vampire crime, often delivering criminal vampires to the Royal Guards, frequently in pieces.
Finally, the third rule among vampires is: "Thous shalt know thy strength."-No matter how old your vampire is, when they arrive at the Hidden Realm of Tranquilitiy, their powers are automatically demoted. NO vampire's will arrive within HRT as any power more then an average century old vampire, no matter the storyline your vampire played elsewhere. The Hidden Realm of Tranquility is bound by protection spells from their Tranquility Sorcerer, so strong that it requires his own blood to weaken the charms. The more often a Vampire arrives or remains in HRT, the stronger they will become (this strength is granted through the Master of the City ONLY by how often you commit yourself to posts!). This rule has been made in effect to keep from godmod abilities. Please keep in mind that exceptions or increase in Vampiric status can be petitioned upon request from the Master of the City.
THE SAME RULE GOES FOR ALL SUPERNATURAL BEINGS. Whether you are a vampire or another form of supernatural being, powers are automatically restricted to the bare minimum until you have proven to the chat that you will not be godmodding abilities to get what you want.
It is relatively easy to move up in ranks, so do not get dishearted. In HRT, all characters of the nightlife (with the exception of the Master of the City) are equally powerful upon first arrival to prevent some supernaturals from being able to torment lower classes. The only one whom can move you up in that rank is the Master of the City.
Moving up will be based upon frequency of visits.
