General
Ghost Tag: -:- Sapientia est Silens -:-
Name: Gavin Silentium
Alias: N/A
Race: Human
Age: 31
Alignment: Neutral/Good
Guild/Group Affiliations: Advisor to Queen Lelanda / DayBreak
Physical
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 180 lbs.
Hair: Black
Eyes: Blue
Skin: Moderately complected
Attributes: Gavin is blessed with a levelheaded nature that far surpasses his years, for the most part. He is knowledgeable in multiple forms of combat, although he lacks hands on training and possesses a born physicality. Due to the infrequency in which he speaks more than a sentence or two at a time, when he does opt to speak in depth on a topic he commands attention rather than demanding it.
Flaws: His soft spoken disposition often times keeps him from offering an opinion simply because his input was not asked. The continuous repression of his words has manifested itself into a wrath that, once exposed, is vindictive far beyond an eye for an eye. He believes in making an example of those that would dare cross him and has no issue with making losing an admirer or two in the process.
Weapons: As a royal advisor he is generally unarmed while in the castle proper. Outside of the castle he carries a double edged short sword, holstered inside an ornately decorated scabbard that hangs from his belt. The sword's hilt and scabbard are both comprised of highly polished ivory and lined with various inscriptions.
Background:
The surname Silentium translates from Latin to "Stillness"...a trait passed down through all of the family's men. Gavin was born the middle child in a family of five, with two older sisters and two younger brothers. As was the case in so many homes of the time the parents Silentium experienced extreme grief as they lost four of their five children. Throughout it all the family rarely displayed emotion, the visibility of a single tear was the equivalent of a house full of wailing mourners. Naturally Gavin was the only child to survive the perils of youth and having seen how fragile life is, took nothing for granted. From an early age he was content with only the barest essentials, his quest for knowledge pushing the desire to "be a kid" aside. His devotion to learning and his parent's unspoken concern with losing another child is how he became acquainted with the royals of the land. Marcus Silentium was a hard working and well respected man, a blacksmith by trade and possessing the same reserved quality as all those of his lineage. Still struggling with the decision but knowing it was best for his offspring he ventured to the castle and approached the man in charge of instructing the more privileged citizens of the kingdom. After meeting with Gavin the instructor decided that the child would remain with his parents for a term of no longer than six months and his formal education was to begin at the age of 10.
Gavin devoted all of his attention to his studies and excelled in the various subjects, ending his formal education with the highest of honors. His advisory career began as an advisor to the Head of the Guard, the powers that be paying more attention to his physical stature rather than his mental capacity. As expected Gavin showed a natural propensity for both strategic and diplomatic methods, with a tendency to look toward diplomacy first and resorting to confrontation only when no longer given an option otherwise. It was his preference for diplomacy that brought him to the Queen's attention and led to his subsequent promotion as her personal advisor.
