A chill fills the air near the tavern, all creatures would fell the sudden chill, the fear of evil over whelms them as they would flee from the area. He would simple appear from a swirling dark portal and step out, the portal vanishes as he would walk forwards and with his right hand reaches out taking the handle into his hand, giving it as quick twist and pulling hard on the door. He chuckles and the door doesn't move so he stiff arms the door sending it hard to the inside wall. Taking a step into the tavern his icy blue eyes drift slowly over those in the room as he take three steps in letting the door slowly close. A smile slowly drifts over his pale colored lips as he sees nothing worth wasting his time with little lone his magic. He stomps his way the bar. Heavy tall black leather boot pound the hard wood floor as he moved. Looking for the tender he growls to her.
"Let me guess..........."
His words diminished into nothingness till he lifted his hand to let his finger rub his chin.
"You have no Vaylor Red Wine?"
Dropping his hand to slap the top of the bar and waited. The woman at the bar shook her head and he lowered his head slightly.
"Perhaps.............."
He lifted his finger into the air.
"A great red wine, chill?"
He looked to her and waited as she would quickly shake her head and moved off to gather his drink.
Pandora decided that with the Summer Festival so quickly approaching, it would suit her best if she first attempted a night out in the real world before the small realm was crowded with visitors. Pandora hadn't been associated with others outside the tower in so long, she wasn't even certain she'd be able to pass for human. If not, she could always roll their minds.
With a small smirk, she approached Williams room and dawned on her black cloak, not the traditional deep green that gained others admission to the Tower itself. Afterall, the Tower was her home. She didn't need to dress for it. Instructing William of her plans, Pandora LeAmour, Master of the City, then stepped out of the single doored Tower and rounded the stone structure until she came to the path. With her head tilted downward, she forced herself to walk a mortals pace into the square.
Her slippered feet were barely visible above the long cloak, nor did they seem to make any noise at all as she walked. Up the steps, Pandora used a single gloved hand to push open the door that would lead her into the Tavern. Her eye's scanned the room from beneath the drawn hood, then came to rest on Obsi, the Tavern's barkeep for the mortals side. She didn't like to visit the Nightworlder's side unless she could help it. Too many people on that side knew exactly who she was and she didnt' wish to be hassled with business.
She noticed Obsi was currently fixing a drink for someone else, but she managed to catch the woman's eye and nothing else. Instead, she escorted herself towards one of the abandoned tables within the Tavern, her back to the wall, and slowly took a seat. Obsi would bring her a drink when she had the time to do so.
Pandora left the cloak hood on, and lowered her gloved hands to her lap, beneath the table's surface. Her eyes remained staring at the table infront of her, which allowed the hood to keep the majority of her features covered and very well hidden. Afterall, she didnt' need to see the room to know who was what and where they were positioned. She wasn't in any danger. There were enough guards stationed about just for her. Blasted nosey people.
His nose captured her scent like a lion on the prowl for it's prey. He turned his head only slightly to see whom it was. He then looked back to the tender as she slid the tall wine glass filled with the red liquid before him. Taking the glass into his hand with his nimble fingers and lifted it to his lips. Stopping inches from his mouth he looked to the young tender. "I say if this is not to my liking I shall take you to my home and show you what a good wine is." Lifting his finger into the air pointed to the ceiling shaking his head slowly. "And do not dare take it as a bad thing, I am only taking wine........................... After all if you think I am interested in anything else you are badly mistaken." He leaned forwards his face inches from her's. "I am a gentlemen you know, to molest a female that does not wish it is something I am not interested in." He smacked his lips like a young boy and titled the glass taking in the drink
*walks in looking around never being here before..she is a new comer to this place and finds a table to sit at looking around.she is about 5'3 and fragile looking woman dressed in simple clothing but the back is open.*
She could, of course, hear every word the man at the counter spoke, but she didn't bother with it. Obsi could take after herself. After all, she was a shapeshifter. And if she didn't handle it, her twin sister Dian certainly would. It was none of Pandora's business.
She remained staring at the table infront of her, as if it's every marking were important. When the Tavern's door opened once more, Pandora glanced up and towards it, spotting the fragile looking woman enter. She instantly returned her gaze to the table once more. The place was picking up, and Pandora had yet to decide if that was a good thing or not.
She would wait patiently. If she were on the secret NightWorld side of the Tavern, she would have been served promptly. She wasn't however, and thus here she was treated as every other meal walking around. Simple. Unimportant. Bland, even.
I sauntered in humming a little, fingers smooth along my body and worked the wrinkles out of dress..eyes seeking you and there you were..i treaded closer and leaned kissing your cheek"hello"
*orders a drink and sits back looking around*
taking note of the other female entered and looked to the tender. "Oh yea, this is not fit for a alley drunk." He took a long breath as if he were going to get into a long drawn out speal of words and gibberish but only shook his head for only a short moment. "I tell you what, if I can get back here someday, I will bring you a sample of some great......no." He shook his head and stood straight, his nearly eight foot tall from stood tall. "Spectacular, delightful red wine from the finest wine makers in all of Baash." He barked out as if bragging. Setting the glass to the bar top and leaning on it. The bar squeaked and groaned in dispute under his heavy weight. He turned his head to hear that voice. "Oh, one of my brats!" He cackled like an mad man for only a short time and narrowed his eyes. "Tell me, you have some wine with you?" Waited for the slave to answer.
lips teased into a delightful smile laughing at one of your brats comment.. i nipped at your ear"Never travel without the stuff".. I draw the bottle of vaylor wine from the basket i had brought with along with bread n stuff and offered it towards you
*tilts her head watching whats going on around the tavern but not knowing anybody settles herself to simply watching*
Reaching down swatting her bottom and like a stavering mad man snatches the bottle from it's resting place and holding it out to the tender. "Get me a glass and fill it up with this hmmmmmmmmmmmm?" Winks to the woman and looks to the slave. "Stop acting free or I will place a lease on you." He pointed to the stoool to his left for her to place her botton on.
And another? Goodness me, had all these visitors arrived earlier then expected for the summer festival? Afterall, it was still one day shy of a week away!
She remained seated, however, and made no movement to greet them. To her, they were currently unimportant, even if a little distracting.
Rescuing Obsi, however, she could do. A single gloved hand rose above the table and with a flick of her wrist, Pandora gestured. Of course, Obsi caught it. Obsi was loyal to her, and thus she probably only had to raise her eyebrows and the woman would notice.
She did so now, tilting her head just enough so that her face was visible. Obsi took that sign for what it was and instantly left those at the tavern counter to fend for themselves and prepair Pandora her usual fake drink. Pandora LeAmour didnt' drink. At least, nothing the tavern provided. But it was tradition that set Obsi scampering around to fill a glass and hurry towards her.
Pandora lowered her chin once more, so that the helm of her hood hid her facial expressions once more and gave a single nod. She didn't speak. Obsi never needed her to. She would know exactly what the movement meant.
As her glass was set down before her, Pandora traced a single gloved finger around the rim, absentmindedly. Her eye's followed the movement for lack of anything else to gaze upon.
.,jumps with a small squeak and crawls up onto the stool my cheeks flushed..aye Master...ohhh ohh a leash, you wouldn't!
*wacthes zess and sheila and raises an eyebrow and sips her drink*
He walked over to her with his new glass of wine and stood at her side looking down at her. "Tell me little one, who do you hide from?" He reached down to take her hood and pull it from her head but stopped only to stand there waiting for her answer.
Oh, how she should have choosen to sit on her side of the bar. As it was, she couldnt' do a damned thing she wanted to. She must act in accordance with the appearance of her age.
She ignored the man's hand, and made no movement to encourage or discourage his reach for her hood. Her voice was quiet, gentle. Forced.
"Tis simple, M'lord. I hide from the fools whom cannot keep their drunken paws to themselves."
The guards that had escorted her bristled, and without glancing to them, Pandora lifted her gloved hand once more, palm facing outward to discourage the thoughts they had of rampting forward in her defense.
*chuckles softly still watching*
"I see, well then............" He said taking note of the guards and chuckled thinking this would be fun to get into a fight with these men but the turned his attention to the female. "Well let's see.......... you have been here for a while, no man has touched you, or for that matter even come close to you and said nothing. "Dam, that hood is working swell." Chuckles as he takes the back of the chair across from her with a hand and pulls it out and lowers himself into the chair. He thumbs the tender and spoke to the hooded female. "As I told here, I have no interest in entertaining any females tonight, so yes, you are safe from me, but that big Oger looking maggot feller over there seems to think he is going to have his way with some female tonight." If she even bothered to look she would see a skinny old man making love to his gin at the table across the room.
Pandora's eyebrows arched, but she said nothing. There wasn't anything really to say. He had no right to speak to her... And then she remembered. SHe was freigning human, not Master of the City. Her voice was equally as quiet.
"Bobby is more then welcome to have his way with me, should he wish it."
Her voice rose in tone, so that it carried easily across the room.
"Hey Bobby, darlin. Do you wish to have your way with me this evening?"
Her question was bland, monotoned, and yet the old man's face crumbled as he gazed at her, instantly shaking his head and ducking his nose deeper into his glass. His reaction caused Pandora to chuckle aloud, her own gaze returning to the untouched glass of wine infront of her.
"That there answer's that."
Rolls his eyes looking her over with a smirk on his face. He lifted the glass to his lips and slurped at the wine, lowering the glass to the table and running his tongue slowly over his pale colored lips to savor the flavor once more. "Tell me little lady, are you a leader or some kind or something, I hear said tell you are something. I am only asking because I am a wonderer from another.....................place.........." He words stopped as he waited for the hooded woman to bark out something else.
*walks up to the bar to get a refill watching and thinking about talking to some people..after all she is new here and should meet some of the locals*
Pandora's voice was just as monotoned as when she spoke to Bobby.
"There is only one leader here, M'Lord, and that is the queen. The rest of us are simple human beings living and abiding by her laws."
Well, that was far from the truth, but Tranquility had the laws that the Mortals were never to know NightWorld existed. To expose NightWorld, and thus any beings that was not a mortal, was punishable by death or banishment. And seeing as Pandora was sitting on the Mortals side of the Tavern, she was not about to break her own laws.
"It is not my busienss where you hail from, M'lord, nore does it interest me. Infact, you have yet to say anything that portays of any interest at all."
Alright, alright, so that was a little rude, but Pandora was anything but polite. No one actually liked her unless they were paid to.
*glances over as she passes* do you get alot of travlers here miss?
"Hummmmmmmmmmmmm then I can kill anyone I wish?" He chuckles and stands quickly looking down at her. "Well woman of no interest, I elect you to introduce me to your leader." He placed his hands to his hips standing there in a theatrical stance.
As one of the other women passed by and addressed Pandora, she raised her chin just enough so that she could peer pale blue eyes from beneath the cloak hood. A gentle, and clearly fake smile plastered on her brightly painted lips.
"Nay, M'lady. Tranquility is a hidden realm and we are often left in peace by travellers. With the upcoming festivities, we have expected to gather more travellers then ever to have wandered through the Forgotten Forest before. Tranquility can go months without a single visitor. Not many care to get lost within the Forgotten Forest enough to stumble across our home. It is rurel, and we much perfer it as such."
Then, when the obnoxious man spoke again, Pandora lowered her gaze to the table once more.
"I am not your slave, M'Lord. You can elect me all you wish, but I shall not do thy bidding. Should you wish to meet the Queen, you shall have to do so on thy own."
Oh, the Queen would certainly have a fieldday with this one. Already Pandora had grounds to kill him or have him killed, but when one is among the mortals, one must act accordingly.
The guards that had escorted her out stood just inside the Tavern door, not all that far away from her, their eye's locked on Pandora herself. She gave a stiff shake of her head. She didn't need them. This man posed little threat. Heck, Pandora could smell it on him. He was simply... Annoying.
oh..are visitors welcome then?*nibbles her lip a bit nervously*
"What ever, well then be aware you let the big one go." He shifted on his feet and stomped to the door and opened it with his right hand the vanished into the darkness.
Pandora's expression seemed to shift again, so that when she glanced up at the woman, she was once again all smiles.
"But of course, M'lady. We welcome everyone here within Tranquility. Do not look so worried, though I do strongly advice if you should elect to stay more then a nigh' thee shall hire an escort or guard to accompany you out after dark. Tranquility is not the safest place to wander after the sun has set."
Well, that was putting it mildly.
When the man spoke again, and then stomped off like a stubborn child, Pandora simply shook her head. He reminded her a lot of Raistlin. Both stubborn to a fault.
oh..umm..well where would i get one of those?...i only arrived a short time ago..and..uhh what exactly should i watch out for?
Pandora turned attention back to the woman standing there speaking to her. Yes, she appeared rather fragile indeed. She wouldn't survive a night in Tranquility out after dark if the Master of the City were unable to control the NightWorld. Her voice was louder, calling forth one of her guards.
"Jason. M'lady, no home is free of evildoers. Men whom wish to harm a woman simply because they can. There are good people in our home, but just like anywhere else, there are also those less proper. You nay wish to risk attracting them unaccompanied."
She waited as one of the guards came quickly strunting over and leaning down as if to listen to her whisper. It was more a bow, but it was how he had adjusted to not appearing to be bowing in public.
"You will escort the lady this evening, wherever she cares to go. When she is through with your services, you will return home. Any harm comes of her, and it will fall upon you. You guard her as if she were your Master, am I understood?"
Pandora watched as Jason gave a brisk nod and turned to stand just to the left of the woman he would now be watching. This wasn't the first time Pandora had issued one of her own personal guards to watch someone that wasn't of her house. He did as he was told without question or complaint.
"There you are lass. Jason will serve you well."
oh..ok well i..uuhh thank you..i suppose this is better..i really hate eating people*makes an unpleasant face*
Another one of her guards slowly approached, and when Pandora saw the movement out of the corner of her eye, she turned her attention to him. He approached close enough to bend over her shoulder and whisper into her ear. With a brisk nod of her head, Pandora pushed her chair back, the four legs squeeking across the stone floor. She then rose to her feet.
"Please do forgive me, M'lady. My own guard has just informed me I must return home."
Not the truth, but Pandora had mastered the ability to lie with her eyes. An empty look that wouldn't give off any emotion, let alone truth from lie. She was required at the Tower. A NightWorlder was demanding her presence, and thus she must go.
"Please do enjoy thy time in our home, M'lady."
She gave a small nod of her head, as if a weak bow, and leaving her untouched glass of wine on the table, turned to head for the Tavern door.
thank you*smiles*
