Thea Shamblestone
Ocearon
-he stumbled into the middle of the village. Okay, so he hadn't expected to see a building here, let alone a village. He dusted himself down and looked around quietly wondering where he was, he'd taken the beaten track having woken up in the middle of a dense forest at somepoint and he had forged his own path through to this location. His dark gaze flickered over the area, waiting to see what the reaction was from the 'residents' of the area, before he pushed on further with his 'exploration' for lack of a better word that his un-intended stumbling had become-
Thea had decided to treat herself to a new glove, which was the only reason she had left the stables at all. With her hands swinging slightly at her sides, she'd been in the middle of trying to sneak through the village without being spotted, when a stumbling fool appeared. Instantly, she diverted her eyes to the ground and kept walking, her shoulders hunched forward.
She'd never been one to talk with others, and infact most of the residents left her well enough alone. They didn't find her beautiful, and she certainly lacked the ability to talk to any of them easily, so why would this one be any different.
Then again, he looked as rough for wear as she usually did, and she couldn't help but allow her eye's to glance towards him without really turning her face in his direction. She was peeking.
-he cranked his neck a little and rotated his shoulders, it was good to be in some kind of civilization again. He didn't detest nature, but it wasn't his favourite place to spend a couple of days, atleast not wandering around like he had done. A clear goal, and some rules etc and he was fine, but no, this had been different. His gaze shifted to you when he saw you and he smiled warmly enough, why wouldn't he, he is after all the intruder here, and how you treated would give him some more indication to how he might be greeted, or so he thought-
-his voice was deep, there was a certain curiousity in it's tone, as well as an accent that didn't belong around these parts, he'd leave it at the greeting for now though, see how she responded, but he kept his distance, well he had started to move towards her, last thing he wanted to do was startle the poor woman and end out with the milita after him. Yea it had happened before..-
His voice calling a greeting hadn't really shocked her. Everyone in these parts greet each other, afterall. Thea glanced around, for as far as she was aware, she was the only one in the village streets at the moment, but that just couldn't be.
When Thea didn't see anyone else, her eye's turned back to the man, a single slender eyebrow arched. Her voice was quiet, a bit hoarse, seeing as she hadn't had the need to speak outloud at all today. That first sentence is always the worse.
She gave a shy, but worried smile, her gaze shifting from the ground to him, to the sky, and then back to the ground again. When she spoke next, her voice was still hoarse, but not nearly as rough sounding as it had been the first time.
-he continued the slow, but steady and purposeful pace towards her and he nodded-
-he smiled a little and looked around-
-he tilted his head some-
-he extended his hand-
-he nodded-
-he paused and looked around again, then back to you-
As he made his way towards her, Thea stopped her progress through the village, allowing him to reach her without needing to hurry his pace. Her eye's stared holes in his boots as he spoke, and she only raised her gaze when movement caught her attention.
Staring at his outstretched hand, Thea ignored it. People didn't like to touch her. She never really knew why, exactly. And she had never shaken someone's hand before. Now was not the time to get it wrong.
Storing his name away for future reference, Thea didn't provide him with her own. He'd just forget it, anyways.
The ghosting hint of a smile twitched at the corners of her lips.
It was weird to be talking to someone that hadn't come to seek her out. Even with customers, they never seemed to want to talk.
-he wasn't like most people, and he watched her quietly a moment his hand staying out in front of him for a few seconds, with her not moving to take it and no mention of her name he dropped it back to his side again, unsure if he has intruded on this place and was going to be upsetting the locals by him being here, especially considering it was out of the way-
Her cheeks blushed an unhealthy shade of crimson and she stubbed her toe into the dirt. If the Queen found out she wasn't being entirely hospitable, she'd take Crookie and her business away from her. Swallowing a lump in her throat, Thea tried again. This time, her voice was smooth and soft, and a bit too cheerfully strained.
She didn't have a nickname to her friends simply because the only friend she had was Crookie and he didn't exactly give her nicknames. Of course, the residents had given her plenty of nicknames, but she didn't feel like telling him any of them.
Of course, Thea wasn't allowed at the Inn. It was too 'classy' for her. They just didn't seem to like women with messy hair, dirty knickers, and a man's blouse that smelt like bird. They wouldn't like her bringing him their either, seeing as he looked like he had just battled the trees. Then again, if he flashed a little coin, they'd become his best friend.
-he nodded-
-he smiled and looked around, this wasn't his usual state, that was for sure. Again another reason he hated nature. He didn't judge people by appearance though, he had learned long ago that was a very bad idea-
-he watched her again, he was curious about her, for one what had caused he sudden change in hospitality-
She struggled her best to paste a friendly smile on her face, and found it was relatively easy. The business smile. She used it often enough. Slowly, Thea began walking again, her voice quiet so that he would have to walk alongside her to hear what she was saying.
As she walked, her gaze kept drifting upward to the sky. Crookie always made it easier to be in town, but he had been off hunting when she left.
As they came to the end of the Village, they entered onto a path.
Up ahead you could make out the castle, and the tower. It was located at the other end of the small clearing in the woods, as far from the Village as one could get.
She stopped on the path. Ahead was the Castle, and the Tower, which she hadn't mentioned. To her right, the square. If he wanted a beverage or a place to stay, he would need to turn Right to get there.
-he continued to walk with her, listening as he did so. He noted the smile and the very almost sales pitch way you had put the information across. However with some comments he was unsure if you were selling it to him, or selling him to leave, especially after your earlier greeting-
-he smiled, it was an honest and sincere smile, he was appreciative of the fact you had taken time to do so-
Thea gave a genuine smile. He was wise. She liked that. Sometimes in the middle of nowhere is better then in the middle of somewhere. Yes yes, she liked that very much indeed.
Bristling a bit, Thea then spoke again, her gaze back on her feet once more.
Suddenly she didn't feel like collecting that glove afterall. Right now, all she wanted to do was get back to the Stables where she both lived and worked, and bathe.
Thea hesitated. She'd already spoken more to this new man then she had to anyone else the entire week past.
What on earth was she doing? Blurting that out? It didn't fit in there! He hadn't asked, and she just popped it out like it actually meant something. Her cheeks flamed even more, and she opened her mouth to say something else, but nothing came out. Lips closed and pressed firmly together, she paused a fraction of a second longer and then abruptly, turned on her heels and began hurrying away.

Good evening to you Miss

"Greetings, M'Lord."
She gave a shy, but worried smile, her gaze shifting from the ground to him, to the sky, and then back to the ground again. When she spoke next, her voice was still hoarse, but not nearly as rough sounding as it had been the first time.
"Rough afternoon?"
-he continued the slow, but steady and purposeful pace towards her and he nodded-
Aye, it has been at that
-he smiled a little and looked around-
It's rather quiet here
-he tilted his head some-
Sorry where are my manners
-he extended his hand-
I am Ocaeron, or Ocae to my friends
-he nodded-
Nice to meet you..
-he paused and looked around again, then back to you-
Could you tell me the name of this place?
As he made his way towards her, Thea stopped her progress through the village, allowing him to reach her without needing to hurry his pace. Her eye's stared holes in his boots as he spoke, and she only raised her gaze when movement caught her attention.

"This is Tranquility, M'lord. Congratulations. You have managed to find yourself into the middle of nowhere."
The ghosting hint of a smile twitched at the corners of her lips.
"Are you looking for someone?"
It was weird to be talking to someone that hadn't come to seek her out. Even with customers, they never seemed to want to talk.
-he wasn't like most people, and he watched her quietly a moment his hand staying out in front of him for a few seconds, with her not moving to take it and no mention of her name he dropped it back to his side again, unsure if he has intruded on this place and was going to be upsetting the locals by him being here, especially considering it was out of the way-
Tranquility, fitting name it would seem. Well.. M'lady, thank you for the information and no I am not looking for anyone, I had come across the place by accident, but don't which to intrude, so I will be heading out pretty quickly I guess.
"Forgive me, M'lord Ocaeron. Tis a pleasure to meet you. Thea."
She didn't have a nickname to her friends simply because the only friend she had was Crookie and he didn't exactly give her nicknames. Of course, the residents had given her plenty of nicknames, but she didn't feel like telling him any of them.
"There is a Tavern and an Inn just up the way if you wish a drink, M'lord. It looks like you could use one."
"Shall I show you around? Or do you intend to depart too soon to care of your surroundings?"
-he nodded-
Thank you Thea, it's a pleasure to meet you I am sure
-he smiled and looked around, this wasn't his usual state, that was for sure. Again another reason he hated nature. He didn't judge people by appearance though, he had learned long ago that was a very bad idea-
Sure, I would be honoured if you would show me around. It's always good to get the knowledge first hand from a local is it not?
-he watched her again, he was curious about her, for one what had caused he sudden change in hospitality-
She struggled her best to paste a friendly smile on her face, and found it was relatively easy. The business smile. She used it often enough. Slowly, Thea began walking again, her voice quiet so that he would have to walk alongside her to hear what she was saying.
"This here is the Village. There aren't that many homes here, as you can see. Each home belongs either to the Queen, or one of the tribe members. There are a few that belong to the residents. The local Carpenter is an excellent worker. He can have a home completed to your satisfaction in a weeks time."
As she walked, her gaze kept drifting upward to the sky. Crookie always made it easier to be in town, but he had been off hunting when she left.
"The open spaces are mostly empty lots. We do not have a lot of residents here."
As they came to the end of the Village, they entered onto a path.
"To the right is the square. Not a lot of business in these parts, but there are a few. A Smithary, Healers shop, Tavern, Inn, and of course the Carpentry. To the left is the well, Tranquility's only source of water."
Up ahead you could make out the castle, and the tower. It was located at the other end of the small clearing in the woods, as far from the Village as one could get.
"Up ahead is the Castle, and the stables across the way."
She stopped on the path. Ahead was the Castle, and the Tower, which she hadn't mentioned. To her right, the square. If he wanted a beverage or a place to stay, he would need to turn Right to get there.
"There isn't much... Like I said, you landed in the middle of nowhere."
-he continued to walk with her, listening as he did so. He noted the smile and the very almost sales pitch way you had put the information across. However with some comments he was unsure if you were selling it to him, or selling him to leave, especially after your earlier greeting-
I see. That's very informative. Thank you
-he smiled, it was an honest and sincere smile, he was appreciative of the fact you had taken time to do so-
Sometimes the middle of nowhere is better than the middle of somewhere. The quiet life for a while, might be a good thing.
Thea gave a genuine smile. He was wise. She liked that. Sometimes in the middle of nowhere is better then in the middle of somewhere. Yes yes, she liked that very much indeed.
"I do think you are correct, m'lord."
Bristling a bit, Thea then spoke again, her gaze back on her feet once more.
"If you follow the path right, you should have little difficulty finding the Square. The Tavern and the Inn are nearly side by side. There shall be more residents within the Square to help you should you need it."
Suddenly she didn't feel like collecting that glove afterall. Right now, all she wanted to do was get back to the Stables where she both lived and worked, and bathe.
"If you need me again, I am often found at the stables."
Thea hesitated. She'd already spoken more to this new man then she had to anyone else the entire week past.
"I am the messenger here."
What on earth was she doing? Blurting that out? It didn't fit in there! He hadn't asked, and she just popped it out like it actually meant something. Her cheeks flamed even more, and she opened her mouth to say something else, but nothing came out.
