Mathas
Carmen Leandra
Tathar Seregon
Location: The Square / The Tower
Time: sunset
He awoke with a start, coming forth from wicked dreams of terrible, deathly beauty. Curse Pandora and this affliction he had! He rolled over, trying to find sleep, wrapping his arm around whichever village girl he had stayed with last night--he could not tell them apart, or remember.
feels you put your arm around me I suddenly wake up from a deep sleep a sleep that I hadn't had for awhile and I slap your hand away ....growling i take my sword that is against the bed and tap against your hand ...i cough as you stir and tap my sword on your hand ........
"DAMN IT, can't you see I'm trying to sleep?"
His brown eyes fly open angrily and glares at her, trying to figure out if she was anyone important or if he could just feel free to beat her. He squinted at her. Oh yes, it was coming back to him now through the fuzzy recesses of his slowly withdrawing mind. The girl. The amnesiac. The...the lycan?!? He had slept with a damn ANIMAL? Surely not. He was on his feet in an instant, growling at her.
"Put that damn shiny stick away, girlie! You coulda knicked me with it!"
Chuckles as you get woke up and start to remember that you slept with a lycan or laid next rather it is morning and we need to get to the Master of the City I need to see what or who I am and how i got like this so lets getup and get going you stupid human or what ever they call growling i go to the bathroom and freshen up before we leave ....splashing my facing with water I look at myself in the mirrow again ........and just shake my head ..and opens the door and sees you standing there ......so come on lead the way Sir bowing slowly
He hitched up his grin, rather liking the way that the water clung to her hair like rain...pretty rain. But then it was back to business. Right.
"Oh, Yes. I am SO excited to meet the master. I wonder if there'll be anything left of you for me to play with afterwards? Come on then, girlie, enough primping. Its a waste of time anyway, since you're just going to get the snot beat out of you anway."
He grinned in a would-be charming matter to her, then grabbed her roughly by the arm again and steered her out the door.
Growls i wish you would quit handling me like i am prisoner I am no t one and noone is going to beat me I have not done anything ....and I was not primping as you call it Iknow where the freaking door is Mathas Sir smiles and walks thru it as he opens and takes a deep breath of the fresh night air .......sighing wanting to remember so badly what she is and why she feels so wierd all the time here as late
He grinned evilly, giving her an extra shove through the door. He was NOT a gentle man.
"Sorry--oh wait, no I'm not. I dont have to go taking orders from little pups. Now come on, we're going to the Tower. Be respectful to the master--she's ten times the woman a mutt like you could ever hope to be."
He was siezed by sudden inspiration, two kill two birdies with one stone.
"However, if one of her little unimportant, too-big-for-his-britches fuzzball minions named Tathar answered, you don't have to worry about any of that. He's just a little nobody, and you can treat him as such."
He grabbed her arm again and dragged her quickly and roughly towards the tower.
gets dragged roughly by the arm growls and wiggls it free Sir I can walk just fine by myself and I am not mutt i am soft and fluffy so you will respect me dear sir and not manhandle me like an animal
He had taken the liberty to remove several volumes of books from the shelves within the Tower's library and had them brought down here, where they sat stacked in front of him at the table, seated in his position as Pandora's second in command. It was not an ....official...position, persay, merely granted out of a whim to annoy Hajia, but since then he had taken on the rather real responsibilities of his unofficial station, greeting newcomers to the lands who were of NightWorld as well as instructing them of the rules and whatnot...A rather boring chore, but one that was necessary nonetheless. And so he sat here reading, perusing page after page as he continued his search for knowledge on one particular subject...Something it seemed was completely unheard of as toime after tome revealed nothing that he did not already know...That it was forbidden, and oftentimes the punishment for such was death in a most painful manner...All the usual boring droll.
"Now, now, don't go getting fiesty on me."
He was not to be detterred, as he grabbed her once again.
"Next time I'll break out the silver gloves and grab you with THOSE otherwise. You are whatever I tell you are. Go ahead and whine some more, I DO get a certain satisfaction from it. Wait."
He stopped suddenly, and dug out a cloak of deep emerald, slinging it about his shoulders and pulling up the hood.
"eventually they'll disgrace the name of nightworld and give you one of these on your own. You'll always have to wear it. They know me there, but still, I must set an example. We're almost there."
but why do you have to cover up if you are human ....and I am not whining as you put it I am just scared of not knowing what I am suddenly I see a huge tower infront of me I gulp as it looks it like a scary place to be in ummm I think I can wait starts to turn around and run before you can grab me
"Hey, what, no!"
Luckily, he was still feeling the V---for the most part, and so his reflexes and speed were both much quicker than a normal humans. Of course if he hadn't been right there she would have gotten away, but he managed to chase her back down.
"Aww, what's the matter? Is the itty bitty wittle puppy dog afwaid of the big scawwy tower? Well face it toots, you're goin whether you like it or not."
growls at you its not that i am scared just worried about what I am going to find out about myself and this is a huge tower and and I don't know what is behind the door
"What is behind that door, Missie, is everything that ever scared you as a child. It is every nightmare you've ever had. But it is what needs to be done. She is the only one that can let you stay here."
shakes her head as she listens to you trying to remember what her childhood was even she can't remember a dam freaking thing and it is frustrating to me I know i was born but I cannot remember where I came or how came to this place maybe this Master of the City can help me figure out what has happened to me and why I can't remember anything slams her fist against the ground looking at the small dent that she made she looks to Mathas oops Im sorry about that tries to cover it up with her foot
He regarded her without pity, much like she was nothing more than a mealticket.
"Stand up, you're embarrassing yourself. I dont know how much of your past Pandora will be able to help you recover, but its worth a shot. Now, let's get this over with."
He raised a hand and beat against the door.
He set the one book down and retrieved another, fervently browsing the pages. Due to his inhuman abilities he could scan a page in but a second or two looking for certain keywords, and he only stopped to read long enough until he was satisfied that it was not what he was looking for, then continued his browsing. It was beginning to look as if he was never going to find anything reguarding the relationship between vampire and lycan going any farther than being bloodthirsty enemies hellbent on tearing eachother to bloody ribbons until there is only one species left....He could find no real references to a successful friendship or relationship between lovers....So perhaps Pandora and he were actually the first to really try it? Even though their species had been around for a very, very long time? He merely kept with his reading as the sound of beating met his ears...for the moment it was William's business and not his own.
William looked up from his own book and stood, grunting with age as he did so, as well as muttering about constant interruptions when he was doing something. It seemed to him that no one ever came to visit when he was off duty...they always waited until he was awake and comfortable to come a knocking and therefore making him do the now old and tiresome and repetetive ritual of going to the door. He peeked out of the slit at Mathas, form covered by the required cloak, though it was unknown who this being was for the moment...and he also saw the woman...Not wearing a cloak and looking rather human.
"Pard'n me, but she dun have a cloak."
jumps at the sound of the hand against the door and stands trying to look important enough to be let in maybe she can or cannot help it is worth a shot as she looks to him placing a hand on his shoulder even though i donot like you and think you stink .....I appreciate your help
Ah, William, william, such an irksome man. He never had cared much for him. His smirk became more pronounced as the little hottie placed her hand on his shoulder. He would allow it--for now.
"I know, Willie-Boy."
If his words were not enough, then his distinctive drawling voice would surely cue the man into who we was.
"That's half the problem. Is the master in? We need to see about gettin this little mutt all initiated."
you didn't say anytihng about getting itiiated just that I would need a cloak of somesort so that I am not noticed nothing nothing about being intiated noticing my hand still on his shoulder i remove it quickly and place it to my side against my sword that hangs on my belt .......nervous as all get out i just go with the flow and follow Mathas 's lead
He was beginning to become quite aggravated, and it was starting to show. His features were beginning to appear more beastial...more primal....as his anger at not being able to find what he was looking for began to take it's toll on him...He would need to feed, and quite soon....And this time he would not be interrupted by more visitors, be they Fae or Goblins or the Father Wolf himself. He took out his initial irritation on the book he was currently holding, yelling about it's incompitence while throwing it against the stone wall across the way, the satisfying sound of the binding ripping somewhat meeting his ears, but it only made him more irritated, as he would have to fix that before Pandora found out he had damaged it, lest she decide to remove his library privaledges....It seemed he was very easily angered this eve...Perhaps it was for lack of contact with the Master of the City, as he had seen her only when he woke as she was in her own slumber for the day.
William grunted again, this time following it with a smirk...Mathas, the Master's pet boy. His arrogance knew no bounds, and he constantly thought himself better than everyone else, forgetting the fact that he was still just a simple human, no matter how much blood he takes from the Master. Were he able he would have simply left them there and gone back to his reading, but sadly it was his duty to let them in...as she was fine since she had an escort. He picked up the large wooden bold and set it aside, groaning slightly as he pulled back on the door, letting it swing open ever so slowly as it was quite heavy. He stayed behind it, of course...almost as if he were using it as a shield, and he vade them enter.
"No, the Master's busy, but Tathar's in th'er just ahead."
He grabbed her again, dragging her in with a grin at William.
"Ah, thanks, Billy. I know the way, no need to show us."
He turned his grin back to her.
"Don't worry, Tathar's just some dumb animal, like you. In fact, you'll probably get along smashingly well if I'm any judge of character."
And so he led her roughly to the meeting room, shoving her inside before him and sauntering in.
"Hello, tatty boy. Got another scoundrel running lose that I thought you'd just LOVE to meet."
pulls back as he grabs her um no no thats okay I think I have changed my mind no no need to rush we can um um do this next or possibly never as i lose my balance but regain it quickly looks at Mathas as if she has seen a ghost ....wanting run again she tries to compose herself as she is lead to the other person that is supposedly just like her
William huffed at being called "Billy"....Another of Mathas' annoying traits...He came up with ridiculous nicknames for everyone, and what was more he acted as if William did not know that he knew he knew the way to go. Why, if he were more than human he would have had a go at the man a long time ago, but sadly he was just a normal, old man, so he had to bite his tongue about it lest he incur the Master's wrath...He was, after all, her pet....But someday Mathas would get him...Life always had a way of coming to bite one in the ass, so to speak. Once he had closed the door once more he put the large wooden bolt back in place and returned to his chair and small table to continue reading, as tonight he did not feel like playing cards with himself.
Tathar snapped his head up to Mathas and the newcomer as they entered, his expression going from grim to furious...As if it wasn't bad enough that his research was proving to be fruitless, he had to deal with the worm's mockery and taunting tonight as well? Oh how he wanted to reach out and grasp that man's head and squeeze until his skull popped and painted the walls red and grey with blood and brain matter....But that wouldn't be allowed, so for now he had to settle on the next best thing. He picked up a book and lobbed it toward Mathas, a threatening growl escaping his throat as he did so...It would seem as if his feeding was going to be delayed once more....and this only served to further agitate him...One would think that it was the eve of the moon phase for the ill mood he was showing right now. As he spoke his words were tinged with malice, as well as dripping in the want for something to be said that would give him enough reason to "accidentally" lose control of himself.
"Shut it, human! I am already hungry, and your words only worsen the feeling further. You will address me by my actual name rather than these silly pet names, and you will act accordingly, as well....Am I clear on that? And furthermore, any strays you bring in are not my responsibility."
Oh, the nerve, the nerve. How dare he growl and bark as though he knew Mathas! He could feel his fists clench even as his teeth grit. Oh he longed to respond, to spew forth his every malice and insult at this..this...animal who was ruining everything...EVERYTHING! But then he looked towards the other woman. No fool was he, no matter what the others might think. He was not stupid enough to have himself locked in a room with two lycans against him. Nope no way, no siree.
"Ooohh, a bit touchy tonight are we, Tathar?"
Fine then. If the doggie wanted to respond to his name, then so be it.
"Believe me. I have no desire--at all, in ANY capacity to have to suffer through your company. But Dear 'Dora is busy tonight, and since you are her LACKEY, this unfortunate responsibility falls to you. I've got better things to do than spend my evenings handing out fabric to every dratted lycan that woes my existance by fouling up the air around here."
standing behind Mathas scared to death and not wanting to piss this man off she just doesn't say a word and lets Mathas handle it seeing the book fly over the human and nearly missing his I jump up and quickly catch the book and look to Mathas you might want to give this back to Him points to the Man at the table holding the book out and waits for the mingy human to take it she growls as he glares at her you know you didn't have to come and help i didn't ask for it i was fine right where i was but noooooooo you had to be all bad guy about it
He clenched his teeth together, mentally fighting the urge to shift and tear out Mathas' organs one by slow and painful one....When he got the chance, and oh he would one day, he was going to make the worm's death as long and drawn out as possible...And given his history, he could make it last almost as long as he wanted...But sadly infections would bring that to an end soon enough...But he would finish the job before that happened..He was not going to let a sickness take what rightfully belonged to him. So, since he could not yet skin the human alive he began to think of ways he could get back at him with words, especially since the woman...wait....No, the lycan....yet another one, it seemed. They were practically crawling out of the forest in droves lately. Her scent told him what she was, as well as that nagging feeling in the back og his mind, his inner beast gnawing at him to let him know that another was present before him. As to what race of lycan she was eluded him...That was hard to discern without seeing her shift or having her tell him outright....But as she caught the book he growled again...Maybe next time he would throw the table at Mathas...He was not likely to miss with that, now was he? He would personally pay to have it replaced, of course, as he planned on throwing it hard enough that there would be no more than splinters left lying in a heap around the bloodied form of the worm...But no..He shook those thoughts from his mind and sneered, baring his teeth to Mathas once more before calling out for William to bring a cloak.
"Shut your whining jaws, Mathas. After all, as Second in Command rather than lackey I have much more pull than you. Now, lass, state your name, race, and business in these lands."
After Tathar finished speaking there was a moment of complete, utter silence echoing as loud as an ocean throughout the room as Mathas stared, and stared and stared. All of the color drained from his face, and his body began shaking, shaking, shaking, even as his fists clenched and unclenched.
No...no...nononoNO. LIES! THESE WERE LIES! Surely not, oh why would she do this? Surely it was to torment him, oh had he incurred another punishment? Oh why, oh why, oh why? Oh no no no. It had to be the damn dog, making up tales, yes that was it, that had to be it, wasn't that it?
"You...foul...lying...dirty...little...LIAR!"
He screamed the last word, the cords on his neck sticking out, spit flying from between his lips as he barely, oh so barely barely managed to keep from committing suicide by springing at the man.
"SHUT UP! I DO NOT HAVE TO TOLERATE YOUR LYING, WAGGING TONGUE JUST WAITING TO LICK UP THE MASTER'S SPILLS!"
And with that, he snatched the book from Carmen's hands and hurtled it with full strength back at the smith, missing him widely in his anger.
a low chuckle as you grab the book from hand and hurle it back at the Man behind the desk I glare at you as say liar you are the one that made me come with you I I was perfectly fine where I was at baring my teeth a little as i regaine my composure .....I look at the Man behind the desk my my name is Carmen Leandra Sir I am a not for sure what i am to be truthfully honest i know when the moon is full I feel different but do not know why and the buisness I have in these lands is to find out what I am and how I got to be this way ....snapping my head back to towards the mingy human growling low ....... still chuckling af ter she watches Mathas losing his temper and loving every minute of it ,,,,
William stood once more and moved off to grab one more of the cloaks. He swore for a moment that this week he had retrieved more of these things than he had in the past few years combined, and that was both a blessing and a curse. The blessing was that there were more NightWorlders, and while he enjoyed serving the Master, she would have to spend more time tending to them and would have less time to punish him should he slip up and do something he shouldn't...and the last punishment session was still quite fresh in his mind, and he was still suffering soreness and aches from it even though it had been quite a while now. The curse, however, was the fact that there were more beasties and the like that could very well do some serious damage if unchecked.. He grabbed one of the cloaks and carried it out to where they were, setting it down on the table with a polite nod to tathar and Carmen and a slight sneer to mathas before moseying off again to resume his reading once more, keeping his words and thoughts to himself for now.
Tathar, on the other hand, had to keep from bursting out into a fit of maniacal laughter at the reaction he got from Mathas. However, while it was not official that he was second in command under Pandora herself, Mathas did not need to know that...No, the Master had said it with her very own lips, even if it was to spite Hajia...And what was more, he emphasized the fact that the seat he had been occupying was the one directly to the right of Pandora's own chair...The seat that the position held. When the book came flying toward him he stood completely still...It missed by quite a bit, but that was enough to show that he had gotten quite deep under Mathas' skin with his words alone. For now he merely offered a nod to the woman's words, taking the cloak in hand and tossing it to her. It was a deep dark green in color, and the fabric was thick and heavy...It would be quite stifling in the heat. He would explain further when he had finished his fun at Mathas' expense.
"Oh, but if I lie then why do I share her bedchambers...? Why do I have the duty of greeting and instructing new arrivals? Face it, Matty boy....You are...obsolete. Your novelty has begun to grow faded, and very soon you will no longer be required for anything. And when that day comes I will beg if I have to to get her to allow me to butcher you myself....And I shall enjoy every scream, every twitch, and every cry that you whimper forth as I kill you in the slowest possible way I can think of."
