: Serve a vampire not even half his age unquestiongly? There was no way the leech could possibly have been serious with her demands. It must have been easy for her to speak to him so brazenly with her barrier holding him back but the Dark Priest would not soon forget her words. He offered her a mutually beneficial arrangement that would both secure the existence of her precious little tucked away hiding spot and kept him from taking out his displeasure with her feeding habits on her subjects. Why she didn't immediately jump at the opportunity baffled him to no end and he pondered it while wandering about the shadowplane. As well as contemplating her line of reasoning he also began to question his own reason for not accepting her counteroffer. Granted he did have prior experience with vampiric rulers that left a sour taste in his maw, but if centuries of exploring countless civilizations had taught him anything it was that not all creatures could be judged in response to the actions of a few.

Dantalion
: The shadowplaned paralleled the other planes of existence and the Dark Priest made sure to remain outside of her protective barriers, unwilling to venture too close to the village and leave himself defenseless against the beasts. Their vicious snarls and massive snapping jaws filled the typically silent abyss with noises akin to pure hatred. Each beast resembled a different species of the animals roaming the earth, with distinct variations of course. The creatures confined to the shadowplane were the type of beasts that would send a hellhound scampering back to its master, sans a tail to tuck between its legs to ensure it never made the mistake of crossing a shadowbeast ever again. Normally Dantalion could simply torture a few of those wretched collaborations of shadows to ease his rather foul mood but his mind was otherwise engaged. A decision certainly had to be made and be made soon. As far as he was concerned there were two options: tentatively accept her offer as a means of keeping the peace or continue his hunt for the Council, convince the Ancients and wage all out war a kingdom ironically named after serenity. Unfortunately the answer was simple. This was not unfortunate for the Dark Priest as much as for the beast that happened to sneak up a bit too close. With a flick of his wrist a rift opened around its head and closed as quickly as it was created. In less than a second the beast was decapitated, the shadows comprising its head joining the darkness lurking in the lightplane.

Dantalion
: Bringing a creature that served such a valuable purpose to an untimely end was not something that brought him pleasure. He did very much enjoy tossing the mindless beasts about but only because he knew they could withstand the abuse and because they knew better than to draw too close to him. With a growl that seemed to echo eternally through the shadowplane he continued pacing around the outer edge of Tranquility's protective barrier, the sound resonating like a mighty horn blast to those that were in tune with the darkness. It was in no way a cry of distress or even a call for companionship so he did not expect any immediate response and was surprised when he heard the two words come to him as clear as a bell. Calm yourself. The three Ancients had spoken to him in their collective voice, something they only did when they truly meant business. Dantalion had long since given up speaking to them and honestly couldn't remember the last time they'd sat and had a bit of a palaver. They knew what he was doing, the knowledge becoming theirs the moment he made any sort of a decision, and since he was careful never to break any of their rules they rarely stepped in. His continuous rocky mood, however, was cause for alarm as it could very well begin to disturb the way in which normal shadows responded to light. As a Dark Priest he possessed a significant measure of control over the shadows and they responded to his moods much like a well loved pet. Taking their words to heart, figuratively speaking of course since he lacked an actual heart, he stopped his pacing and waited. He knew she rise from his day slumber soon enough and when she did he would be waiting.
